From Montréal, a city that knows jazz, Avatar Productions presents the U.S. premiere of Mingus Mingus Mingus: I Am Three – an explosive, award-winning musical drama about American jazz giant Charles Mingus. Author and performer Karen Kaderavek tells the volatile bassist’s life story by donning his pants, pipe and persona, and portraying some of the women who loved him most. Mingus’s enormous spirit and stature are invoked through his music, his words and his walk.
