About This Show

The 80’s cabaret-dramedy! A young boy dreams of becoming a “Solid Gold” dancer but is overwhelmed with the influences of MTV, bad hair, sex, drugs and cheesy dance moves of the 80’s. Filled with a fun jukebox of pop, new wave and one hit wonders of the “me generation,” writer/performer Alex Perez (DeLaGuarda, OZ and MTV) invites you to take a flashback pop culture 101 course on the 80’s as it reflects the fictional story of a young man trying to salvage what was pure and honest in his life, before the downward spiral of a failed mission to superstardom.

With hundreds of references to TV shows, celebrities, personalities and music of the 80’s, this creates a fun evening of nostalgia while watching a cabaret show interspersed with monologues.

This cabaret show is perfect for any 80’s junkie, and great for new audiences to sit back and listen to songs that will provoke many memories of their own lives and create new ones in this 90 minute dramedy!
