Living with Betty

After only three months as an airforce bride, Sally Su Klimek loses her husband to a gruesome in-flight collision. Numbed by shock and muffled in a cocoon of her family’s concern, Sally gives up on life, happiness, drama — even her own memories. Unable to re-engage, Sally Su never sees Betty Beauchamp coming. With a set of dishes for every season and the perfect dress for every mood, Betty, a charismatic Georgia firecracker, moves in, takes over, and kickstarts Sally’s life. Leading Sally into increasingly absurd capers and keeping her off balance at every turn, Betty teaches Sally how to live again — but Betty’s own secrets threaten to overtake them both.

Théâtre Trouvé presents the New York premiere of Living with Betty, a dark comedy inspired by the true-life events of Sally Su Klimek by her daughter, Heather Benton.
