About This Show

Hailed by the L.A. Times as “brave, hilarious and a gale-force breath of fresh air,” Letting Go of God chronicles one woman’s unexpected and hilarious journey that begins when two Mormon missionaries arrive on her doorstep and inadvertently challenge her way of thinking about religion, God, and the nature of self. Julia Sweeney’s Letting Go of God is a comical and poignant story of a woman’s struggle with faith in our modern, scientific era.

Julia Sweeney’s other one-woman shows include In The Family Way (Ars Nova and Groundling’s Theatre in Los Angeles) and God Said, Ha! at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway. Having spent four seasons as a Saturday Night Live cast member, Julia introduced and popularized the beloved gender-neutral character “Pat.” Her film credits include Pulp Fiction, Clockstoppers, Stuart Little and the infamous It’s Pat. Julia appeared in two episodes of the final season of Frasier, starred in and consulted on multiple episodes of Sex and the City, and is currently a writer on Desperate Housewives.

There is no performance on Thursday, October 26.
A 2:00 PM matinee is scheduled for Saturday, October 28. This performance replaces the regular Saturday evening show.
