About This Show

The Collapsable Giraffe presents their newest company-created theater performance, Letters from the Earth. Drawing its inspiration from Mark Twain’s scathing religious satire of the same name, this live theater presentation investigates the absurdities and comedies of our need to create sense in the face of life’s uncertainties. Letters from the Earth explores our need to fight isolation and loneliness by spinning vast webs of gossip, half-baked conspiracies and religious dogma. The company incorporates both archaic and ultra-modern modes of transmission in the performance including: WWII-era radio, analog reel-to-reel tape, 1980s teletype, and live video streaming via internet. Created and performed by Brian Bickerstaff, Jim Dawson, Iver Findlay, Jim Findlay, Amy Huggans and Tara Webb.
