Les Spectacles Vivants Sample

Direct from Paris, the Pompidou Center presents a sample of its cutting-edge performances as part of The Downtown Arts Fesival’s Contemporary French Art and Performance Series. Les Spectacles Vivants Sample features performance group Grand Magasin who present a scientific study of absurdity in 60 short pieces; choreographer Xavier Le Roy, who focuses on the forms and deformations of a “disorganized” body; Claudia Trozzi who explores the female body as a tool through its ritualistic relationship with daily objects; and composer David Shea, who composes and samples surprising pieces mixing classical, experimental, and club dance traditions.
