The Looking Glass Theater, Inc. presents Catherine Bernard’s LAODAMIA: QUEEN OF EPIRUS. Written in 1689, it was the first full-length play written by a woman to be produced by the Comedie Francaise in Paris. This story of a queen’s choice between her passion for a man and love for her sister ran in repertory for two successful years. Director Judith Lambert’s staging translates the psychological boundaries of this intriguing political romance into actual geography on stage creating a world in which emotions are politicized and a flicker of passion can determine the fate of a nation.
