KABOOM!
$15.00
From the festival that produced Urinetown…The associate producers of Spring Awakening…The associate director of Broadway’s Spamalot and Billy Elliot…Actors you’ve seen on Broadway and TV…And a playwright who can’t tell his nose from his elbow… It’s the tale of San Francisco’s wiliest crook, who plans to cash in on the ultimate rip-off: a drug called Krokk that may extend orgasms up to 37 minutes. When his stash is accidentally destroyed, he has one day to recoup his losses and get out of town. As he rakes in cash from his many other con jobs, it seems as if nothing can stop him — except maybe a neurotic New Yorker, a kazoo virtuoso, a loopy bike messenger, and an act of nature. Merging hipster satire with old-school farce, KABOOM! finds wicked fun in the way people invite con men to mess up their lives. Presented by the 11th annual New York International Fringe Festival, KABOOM! is co-produced by Joan Cullman Productions (associate producers of Spring Awakening) and written by Michael Small, co-author of the Off Broadway hit The IT Girl. Director BT McNicholl, currently the associate director of Billy Elliot and Spamalot on Broadway, staged award-winning European productions of Cabaret and The Producers. KABOOM!’s con man Rodney Rangler is played by Ray Wills, whose extensive theater, movie, and TV credits include originating a role in the Broadway production of The Producers.
