A new-breed jazz and blues vocalist, John Minnock first gained popularity as a successful singer in Boston and is now a regular performer at the Metropolitan Room. An audience favorite rapidly building a large New York following, John combines great originality, musicality and showmanship with clever wit and irreverent comedy, presenting a high-energy and entertaining evening of jazz, blues, funk and R&B.
A classically trained musician, John's voice recalls the likes of Billy Eckstein, George Benson and B.B. King, as he often branches out into jazz improvisations and scat singing and adds interesting anectdotes about each song. His wide repertoire of song renditions spans from classic artists like King, Ruth Brown and Bill Withers to contemporaries such as Sara Bareilles, Amy Winehouse and Sam Smith.
John leads a trio of accomplished musicians and keeps the energy moving throughout the show. Beginning in 2016 he can be seen as a resident performer at The Metropolitan Room.
