After Glory, for which he received the Bessie Award in 2006, Berlin based Choreographer Jeremy Wade presents his new group piece in the U.S. for the first time. …and pulled out their hair, a quintet, is a grotesque organism and an emotional sculpture that is deployed in physical, psychological as well as behavioral modes in order to understand the limit states of our experiences. The unstable and transitory state of body and mind is a recurring theme in Wade’s work. He uses movement as a way to dislodge fixed habits like no one else does; looking for new ways to articulate disorientation through moving that goes beyond physical and emotional boundaries, both in his dancers and in his audience.
