Jazzdance by Danny Buraczeski returns to The Joyce full of gorgeous subtlety, wit and cool imagination for hot summer nights. Jazz music is the inspiration for Buraczeski’s sophisticated and expressive work — imbued with energy, complex rhythms and the capacity for personal expression. The program includes two premieres: Beat, to music by Philip Hamilton and Peter Jones, featuring a mix of driving percussion and soaring vocals; and Four Seasons, set to Astor Piazzolla’s jazzy reimagining of the much beloved Vivladi concerto.
