J.C. Hopkins and the Holiday Mood Band

J.C. Hopkins and his six-piece Holiday Mood Band create tidings of comfort and joy at the Fez Under Time Café. Joined by guest vocalist Martha Wainwright, Hopkins and band will perform original ballads and holiday favorites. Other band members will include Bob Hoffnar (pedal steel guitar), Doug Weiselman (saxophone, clarinet), J. Walter Hawkes (trombone), Vincent Chancey (French Horn), and Catherine Popper (double-bass).

J.C. Hopkins is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, performer and producer whose credits include Victoria Williams’ Water to Drink (Atlantic/2000). Hopkins’ work crosses boundaries between pop, folk, and jazz in an amalgam of orchestrated horns and strings, melody and spontaneity. “Hopkins wraps Waits and Kerouac in a folk cabaret cloak and bellies them up to the bar,” writes Wired Magazine.
