About This Show

Fat Pie Productions presents a revival of Paul Rudnick’s I Hate Hamlet, directed by Ed Schiff.

Flush with success and fame after a smashing three- season run as the star of a highly popular television series, Andrew Rally is relocating from Hollywood to New York City. His trusted theatrical agent Lillian has contracted him to play Hamlet at The Public Theater in Central Park. This terrifies Andrew but inspires his, not yet deflowered, girlfriend Deirdre to states of near ecstasy. His real estate agent, Felicia, has set him up in a gothic nightmare of an apartment which, it turns out, was once the roost of, none other than, that late great star of stage and screen, John Barrymore. His personal manager, Gary, thinks Andrew is giving up his career and entices him with a seven-figure contract on a new series, which he has pitched to the Network. All Hell and hilarity breaks loose when The ghost of John Barrymore comes swaggering in to guide the young, never been stage tested, Rally to the heights of artistic glory in the toughest of all theatrical roles…. Hamlet.
