About This Show

Two brothers in occupied territory set out to create a new nation out of old tales. Known to us today as famed fairy tale conjurers The Brothers Grimm, these two dedicated and courageous men risked everything to collect stories of girls eaten by wolves, hearts bound in iron, cities sound asleep and impossibly happy endings; in the process they provided a burgeoning nation with a desperately longed for cultural identity. Drawing from the fairy tales themselves, as well as from letters of devotion written brother to brother, How 2 Men Got On In the World is a haunting and fantastical piece that explores brotherhood, nationalism, and the terrible fear of being alone. It is being presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
