About This Show

Honky Tonk Tornado Warnings is a satire of the “psychodrama” Hollywood genre wherein crazy people “think they see” ghosts, monsters, control the weather, etc. In this play, inmates of the pop media culture really meet up with the supernatural, as preserved in small town archives. The time & space of this play is governed by a vortex of synchronous causality which originates for unknown reasons from the location of “Frontier Junction.” Though the action may seem to move “as in a dream” the situation is not a dream but involves expanded awareness of the mental environment as this intersects with actual tornados &/or human relationships in Hollywood and elsewhere.

Playwright Eugenia Macer-Story’s recent novel “Struck By Green Lightning AKA Project Midas” was reviewed on Bookwire in November 2004 as: “… This fast-paced novel draws the reader into a world of intrigue, conspiracy, secret agents, aliens, and flying saucers. What makes this novel different from other cloak and-dagger thrillers is its ability to combine in it a message to the readers of reaching out to understand the contemporary world. Macer-Story challenges works like Close Encounters of the Third Kind by veterans like Stephen Spielberg and Robert Heinlein; all who tried to depict the world beyond the contemporary systems of knowledge. She brings to bear her own knowledge of the Occult and Psychic abilities in this work, which is certain to be a cult classic in its own right. This novel is bound to make her fans and would-be fans to demand more from her in future.”
