Holes, based on the Newberry Award-winning novel, tells the story of Stanley Yelnats, who was “just in the wrong place at the wrong time”. A pair of sneakers falls from the sky, smacking Stanley on the head and knocking his world upside down. He is wrongfully found guilty of stealing the shoes and is sentenced to Camp Green Lake, where he is to dig a five-by-five foot hole everyday in order to build his moral character. Through excruciating digs, reading lessons, and narrow escapes, Stanley learns the value of friendship and the power of truth.
