Zemwerk proudly presents HMLT, a darkly comic tale of blood, sweat, and murder, co-written by Stella Maria Perry and Oisin McGillion Hughes. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Dark Lady Sonnets, as well as the works of Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, HMLT is a full-length play with inspirations ranging from 1920s German Expressionism to the punk scene of 1970s London. HMLT follows the melancholy Prince through a modern-day labyrinth of social barriers and expectations as he struggles to extricate himself with the guidance of a mysterious book containing a meta-history of his life, commentary on the original play Hamlet, and cryptic clues that force him into an investigation of human nature and the essence of self.
