About This Show

Written by Sam Ryan and directed by Chris Plante, Higher Power is a high-intensity take on sex, drugs, rock and roll, and Catholicism. It is the story of two brothers whose lives have taken wildly divergent paths – one, a recent college graduate now working at Blockbuster, the other, a small-time drug dealer. Their lives are united, though, within the course of a single night, when an old friend arrives with a fortune in drugs and a mysterious past, setting into motion a last-ditch drug deal and the undoing of family and friendships. Higher Power is a streetwise, alternately hilarious and devastating morality tale in the tradition of This Is Our Youth, Tape, and Hurlyburly. Higher Power is presented as part of the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival.
