About This Show

American Globe Theatre celebrates its’ 20th season as NYC’s longest running off off Broadway theatre with Henry V. This raw, high energy production features Dennis Turney (winner of 2000 OOBR award for Hamlet). Known as “the people’s king” it centers on Hal and his transformation from a lazy, idle young prince to a well-beloved king. His task was to unite the undermanned and divided armies of Britain and to lead them to victory over France. The play’s relevancy to today cannot be missed. It focuses not only on the difficult and damaging decisions made during war but is also a hopeful commentary on how a nation can become united under inspired leadership.
