About This Show

The Subterrenean Theatre Ensemble presents Go Home!,
a new play written and directed by David Tianga. Go Home! takes place in the present day outer Boroughs of New York City. It is the story of a Latin family who has inherited two buildings from their deadbeat father and is forced to deal with the gentrification of their neighborhood. The question that arises in the play: “to sell or not to sell”, is one that we- as citizens of a capitalist society- have to answer on a daily basis, on many levels. The family is also forced to explore themselves as individuals and the roles they each play in the ever changing “family unit”.

Go Home! contains all the elements of the Subterranean Theatre Ensemble’s style of performance: gritty, raw, humorous dialogue that speaks to the audience of NOW and “toned down- realistic” acting that allows the audience to make choices and decide for themselves rather than be bombarded with “over dramatized” scenes that leave no room for exploration. At the very least, this will be a play that will make you think…!
