New York City
Time: Now
Place: The Lower East Side
Ambiance: Desperation
This is a story about three girls from somewhere else who come to New York to find happiness and men.
Mostly men. No. Take that back. Totally men.
Their names are Betty, Morgan and Kimmie.
Their problems are sexual addiction, rampart promiscuity and virginity.
Their solutions are Sam, Vince and Graham – not necessarily in that order.
They also have money problems, eviction issues and food deprivation.
They are trained to do nothing. Wasted their formative years. Spent their college tuitions on clothes and have pretty much blown all their chances at survival.
So what.
They find a solution.
It happens almost at the end of Act II.
(Wait’ll you see what happens at the curtain call.)
This is also a story about realizing that virginity is not the burden it’s cracked up to be.
WARNING: This play proffers the theorem that what a vagina really needs is a dialogue.
“‘GIRLS is very funny. It has the feel of a sitcom with edge that actually makes you laugh out loud. It is surprisingly relatable. IT SURE KNOWS HOW TO HAVE FUN.”
