The Liguorian Players presents the New York City revival of Edith Stein, by acclaimed playwright Arthur Giron. The play treats the life and heroic death of Edith Stein, a Jewish convert to Catholicism who became a Carmelite nun before she was taken from her convent to die with fellow Jews in Auschwitz. Stein was canonized a Saint by the Catholic Church in 1998, a move that was violently opposed by some prominent members of the Jewish Community.
