About This Show

Narrow Journey Productions presents Discordant Duets as a part of the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival. NJP strives to turn upside down the erroneous stereotypes that Christian Theatre consists only of pageants illustrating the life of Moses or abstract depictions of Good and Evil. By bringing to life characters that the community can relate to – real people struggling with the same situations and problems that all humans struggle with – Discordant Duets does something totally new, presenting Christianity in the Here and Now. In keeping with the FringeNYC’s cutting edge philosophy, “this ain’t your momma’s church play!”.

Written by husband and wife playwriting team Mark and Michelle Bruner, the play revolves around two couples struggling through troubled relationships. Rick & Dailey and Mariselle & Mike contend with commitment, desire, trust, and independence on the Road to Break-up. When one young woman begins a relationship with Jesus Christ, the change in her life affects them all.

Part of the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival.
