About This Show

1863, inc., a New York-based theater company dedicated to
exploring alternative ways of creating new text, premieres DaysJourneyLong, an evening of three new works.

The works were created during a weekend-long retreat at the Eugene O¹Neill Theater Center, using a process devised by 1863, inc. founders Chris Ajemian, Eddie Scannell and
Charlie Veprek. Twelve interdisciplinary artists were divided into groups of four and presented with a “source”: an illustration, painters’ supplies or a word collage. Each
group created a “script” from the given “source” and this new “script” was given to another group to stage and present. From this they created You Can’t Predict the Weather, Who Came First? and SerifSansSerif, respectively.
