Countdown, a dark Italian-American comedy, introduces us to the hilariously dysfunctional LaRocca family — sex-starved Nicky, his scotch-swilling wife Rosie, and Pop, Nicky’s headstrong father — as they try to grapple with the recent death of the matriarch, Angelina. Joining them is Sandy, Nicky’s long suffering, sexy mistress, and Toni, Pop’s new dim-witted girlfriend. As traditional Christmas Eve dinner approaches a three-ring circus unfolds as a faithless marriage is exposed, the bitter relationship between father and son is soured even more, and no one cooked the fish! In Countdown we see how death has a funny way of triggering life.
