First Run Theatre presents CHARTER MEMBERS, a drama based on historical incidents and individuals involved in the U.S Army’s experiments with LSD. The story follows a career army officer and former scoutmaster invites three former members of his scout troop, now young men, to join him in a reunion honoring the memory of one of their scouting friends who was killed in action in Vietnam. The year is 1979, and the psychic wounds of the war are still raw, straining friendships and inciting suspicions of dark motives. The father of one scout has died mysteriously, after taking part in the army’s hushed-up LSD experiments. The reunion becomes a battlefield in which old memories slug it out and the best intentions serve up fatal consequences.
