New York City
The artist dreams of thrift stores! Citing Jack Smith’s statement that art is one big junk shop as his thesis, Brandon Olson explores his nightly visits to second hand utopias where the current market value of gaudy baubles, bangles, and beads is still undiscovered. Along the way, the fear of death, the nature of desire, and the joy of inspiration through transformation are encountered. With song, movement and poetry, Olson takes us to his surreal dreamscape of the Ultimate Salvation Army. The question is, can he really be saved?
