About the Show

Athol Fugard’s Blood Knot speaks with poetic resonance capturing the plight of two brothers; one light-skinned and the other black. Blood Knot creeps underneath the mere surface of skin complexions and slowly yet sometimes viciously unravels a tight coil of race perceptions.  Morris the lighter skinned brother living with his dark skinnned brother in South Africa try to maintain normal family life, but the question of race is always a factor. Can they help each other survive and still be a family in a time of apartheid?
