Culled from a variety of documentary sources and set against the backdrop of his 1928 satirical masterpiece The Bedbug, theater et al brings its aggressive mix of movement, image, sound, and music to the whirlwind, soap-operatic, and creatively charged cafe society of the Soviet 1920s, and to Mayakovsky’s most outrageous political experiment: himself.
