About This Show

Blending fast-paced scenes and rhythmic monologues, this piece of hip-hop theater shines a light on love and friendship among a group of 5 butch, boi, and trans people who play ball together and the femme women for whom they fall. This play is set in L.A. and was written with the lesbian and trans communities in mind. This play is written with a social/political consciousness, but none of the characters are necessarily “politically correct”. This is not so much about the plight of people of color as it is more of a play targeted to the audiences who want a balance to what they see in “The L Word”.

Ballin’ With My Bois: Stories on Brotherhood, Basketball, Bisexuality, and the Butch/Femme Phenomenon is written and directed by D’Lo, co-directed by Shireen Deen and produced by D’Lo and Jack Aponte. The cast features D’Lo, Lee Albertorio, Reed Christian, Kori McCarter, Vera Miao, Michel Ng , Shaq Peltzer, Alyson Schwartz and Riley Snorton.
