About This Show

In Aznavour in Bloem, international troubadour Frans Bloem (2002 Bistro Award-winning vocalist) embarks on a journey of discovery through the musical world of legendary French composer/performer Charles Aznavour. Sometimes credited with being the man who reinvented French chanson, Aznavour runs the gamut from pop stylist to political activist within the canon of his more than 600 songs. Bloem, fluent in five languages, for this show concentrates on French and English, with a dash of Russian for good measure. From “Formidable” to “They Fell That Year” this outing is at the intersection where the songs of Charles Aznavour become wrapped in the personal experiences of Frans Bloem.
