The New York Theatre Experience, Inc. (NYTE) presents Ascending the Ninth Galaxy Lunch, a free dramatic reading event celebrating the publication of Plays and Playwrights 2003. The evening will feature readings from the plays Out to Lunch, Galaxy Video, and The Ninth Circle, as well as a fully staged performance of the short piece Ascending Bodily. The event is hosted by Martin Denton, editor of Plays and Playwrights 2003 and the nytheatre.com website.
The event stretches the boundaries of the usual play reading by interweaving scenes from four different plays into a unique and entertaining evening that will whet audience’s appetites for these works and the other seven collected in Plays and Playwrights 2003. A reception, where all four playwrights will be available to sign copies of the book and meet audience members, will follow the readings. Books will be available at the event for purchase.
