A Girl of 16 is a story about unfulfilled desires from a long ago love affair poisoning the lives that surrounded it, the terrible beauty of murder, and the indescribable experience of a girl being 16. A response to Yasunari Kawabata’s 1961 novel Beauty and Sadness, the play is a product of the extremely sensual physical work of the actors who have created the world of the play. The piece is written and directed by Aya Ogawa for the International WOW Company.
