Although considered by August Strindberg to be his greatest work, A Dream Play is seldom performed due to the near-impossible imagery in the text. Told as a lucid dream, the story follows the Daughter of the Gods as she journeys the earth to learn why humans find their lives so miserable. Confronted by a lawyer, an officer and a poet, The Daughter travels through hell and paradise on her tireless quest for the secret to life.
