15 Minutes and Other Stories of Relationships

About the Show

Prester John Productions presents the Creative Acting Company’s Sixth Short Play Festival, 15 Minutes and Other Stories of Relationships, four short plays that thematically revolve around the topic of “Couple Relationships.” The show consists of two comedies and two dramas written by some of New York’s finest playwrights. The plays’ synopsis and directors are as follows:

“15 Minutes” by David DeChristopher, is a comedy that satirizes tabloid TV and modern morals. A talk show host entertains her audience and fans by ringing her dirty laundry at the wee hours of the night, from the depths of her bedroom. Directed by Gus Waite, Artistic Director of the Creative Acting Company.

“Paul Campbell Hits the Bigtime” by Alexandra Devin, is a drama about how the success of a spouse can create tension in a marriage. Broadway star, Paul Campbell has hit the big time and his wife, Phoebe can’t cope. Phoebe, an actress, decides to pave her own road to success by taking a gig that some, including Paul, don’t consider “show business.” Directed by Tony Award winning producer Robin Lane.

“The Kindling Effect” by Linda Rathkopf, is a drama about how the loss of a child can hurt a marriage. Communications are strained and obsessions over minute issues surround the true issue at hand. Directed by Mark Buettler.

“Last Resort” by Chuck McMahon, is a satire of racial perceptions in the world of celebrities. A Latina soap star, wealthy British matron and a larger than life Diva pop star make for comedy and gossip worthy of the National Enquirer. Directed by Stacee Mandeville, Artistic Director of Prester John.

There is an additional performance on Thursday, March 27 at 7pm.
