Water From the Moon is based on Loar's own personal family story. She plays "Wildberry," the lead singer/songwriter in a Grammy Award-winning rock band who has long struggled to overcome the experience of an abusive childhood. While on a tour she learns that her estranged father is dying and as the musical follows Wildberry and her band from tech rehearsal to a Hollywood Bowl concert, she must decide whether she will make peace with her father. Will this Irish American daughter reconcile with her hardheaded dad? In a story that is heartbreaking, heartwarming, and absurdly humorous, Wildberry learns that sometimes the only way to drown out your father's voice is to find your own.
