About This Show

The Women’s Project & Productions Theatre, the workplace for women in American theater continues its 1999-2000 season with playwright Julie Jensen’s, Two-headed. This tragicomedy retells the savage history that surrounds one enduring friendship on the Utah frontier. Bigamy and bloodshed were facts of life for the wives and daughters of 19th century Utah, where the men had the power of The Word and the women only had each other. Ten-year-old Lavinia taunts little Hettie with secret spoils from a hushes-up frontier massacre, not realizing how the savage events of the day will follow them for life, and haunt following generations.
On Tuesday, May 16, at 9:30pm join Professor Carol Gilligan, world-renowned psychologist and Chair in Gender Studies at Harvard University, as she returns to the Women’s Project for a rousing discussion with actors and audience members about the psychology of Two Headed.Admission is free.
Previews begin on May 3.
