Stageplays Theatre Company, Inc. presents The Crying Woman / La Llorona, by Kathleen Anderson Culebro. This cross-cultural drama is about an American businessman assigned to open an American fast food restaurant, to sell Mexican food, in Mexico City. When he and his pregnant wife move into the home of a struggling Mexican architect, forced to rent his ancestral home to support his own young family, the hacienda is visited by La Llorona, a spirit who sings her song of sadness in hopes of rescuing the two young couples from danger. Tom Ferriter directs.
