About This Show

This is a compelling new play by BU alumna Michelle Poynton that recounts the scandal surrounding the ninth century German woman who, legend has it, disguised herself as a man and rose to rule Christianity for two years. Each performance will be followed by an interactive talk-back with the director, playwright, and cast. This new work was developed in 2008 as part of the BU School of Theatres New Play Initiative, and is the School’s official entry in the prestigious Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
