Guinea Pig Solo

John Ortiz and Philip Seymour Hoffman’s LAByrinth Theater Company (Our Lady of 121st Street and Jesus Hopped the “A” Train) is in residence at The Public this season presenting a total of three plays in the Shiva Theater. Their third production, Guinea Pig Solo, is a collaboration with The Public Theater. This explosive new play by Brett C. Leonard is a visceral, violent and visually stunning riff on Buchner’s classic Woyzeck. John Ortiz stars as Jose Solo, an Iraq War veteran trapped in post 9/11 New York in this modern American tragedy. Ian Belton directs.
