About the Show

Ancestral Voices, the new play by A.R. Gurney is set in 1940’s Buffalo, New York. From the perspective of young Eddie, audiences experience the ups and downs of an affluent family, when Eddie’s grandmother unexpectedly divorces his grandfather and marries his grandfather’s best friend. Similar to Gurney’s popular play Love Letters, this production is performed informally, with actors reading from scripts.
