About This Show

Directed, written and performed by Rodrigo Fischer, Misanthrofreak is a one-man play that discusses the failures and difficulties of decision-making through the appropriation of cinematic language. Using a pathetic-poetic aesthetic, Fischer controls all the lights, sounds, and projections while performing onstage. The audiovisual language simultaneously reinforces, complements, and opposes the theatrical speech allowing the viewer to have an amplified sensory experience. Misanthrofreak encourages a discussion about our contemporary society, and how we are hostages to the logic and ideals we’ve built for ourselves.
