About This Show

Nine and a half years have passed in a blink for the small and determined Ballet NY. The company celebrates at the Miller Theatre, reflecting the commitment to discover new works for ballet by co-artistic directors Judith Fugate and Medhi Bahiri. The company presents the world premier of William Soleau’s “Table Games,” which documents the interactions of three couples at a dinner table. The world premier of Lisa de Ribere’s “Manny’s Mission,” initially inspired by the choreographer’s trip to Israel, is set to traditional Klezmer Music. Helen Heineman’s “Replacements” is a constantly shifting trio set to Tuvan throat singing and a score by Bun-Ching Lam. Thaddeus David’s turbulent duet “Vivaldian Chat” rounds out the program using a score that combines the music of J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and contemporary composer Thomas Newman, recorded by YoYo Ma and Bobby McFerrin.
