About This Show

Isaac Hayes was one of the most influential and successful artists of the late-’60s and early ’70s, known for such top-selling albums as 1969’s “Hot Buttered Soul.” He has had a record seven #1 R&B albums and charted 20 LPs on the R&B and Pop charts from 1969-80. He’s the first African American composer to win the Oscar for Best Musical Score for Shaft. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Despite his heavy music credentials, Hayes is known to many simply as the voice of the chef character in Comedy Central’s animated “South Park” series.
