About This Show

Inventures and Life Lessons, written and performed by Clark Sayre (Merrily We Roll Along), was inspired by his own decision to uproot his family and move to New York for the year. “At age forty five sometimes people feel that it’s too late to pursue their dreams and start something new,” says Sayre. “Thankfully I have a wife and kids that love adventure and support me in this dream to perform on Broadway again, even after a twenty year haitus.” His father, Robert Elwood Sayre, Young & Rubicam ad man, was only able to pursue his love for painting after he became too sick to work. Through dialogue with and remembrances of his deceased father mixed with lots of songs, the younger Sayre seeks to show why it’s so important to take out that old clarinet from your closet, learn that foreign language, sign up for a hang gliding lesson, or pursue that artistic passion that many keep buried inside.
