The evening launches a month-long look at films based on Caribbean literary texts and forms part of the third Caribbean Classics Stage & Screen Series.

Sweet Sugar Rage, 1985
A popular Jamaican women’s troupe, Sistren Theater Collective, uses improvisation and theater as consciousness-raising tools that speak directly to the daily experiences of women – the least empowered workers who labor long hours for low wages with no benefits or rights to organize for better conditions.
