DAMN THE TORPEDOES is a tribute to the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers formed in October of 2007 with Tom Petty lookalike/soundalike Rich Kubicz. Bassist Saul Abrams and Drummer Mark Haughton made the perfect rhythm compliment having had experience playing together in bands before. The fact that the two also had chops with harmony vocals made their edition a major plus. Keyboardist Jeff Klein was added very quickly after that. The fact that Jeff could blow a mean harp was another added bonus. Our newest edition, Phil DeGregorio, filled the band’s need for a lead guitarist who had the ability to get good sound and also play slide. Damn The Torpedoes tries very hard to sound as close as humanly possible to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers . The fact that Rich looks like TP is simply an uncanny coincidence. Telecasters, Rickenbackers and Strats simply add to the experience.
