First Flight Showcase of New Work

A festival of socially conscious, timely, and propulsive one-act plays. Across Dylan Gottlieb's DOWNWARD MOBILITY, Lindsey Walko's HOPE IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS, Kathryn Ryan's NIGHTMARES SPRING FROM AMERICAN DREAMS, and Erica Smith's A VERY DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH, the First Flight Showcase touches on everything from wealth inequality to spirituality, immigration to modern feminism, activism to aliens. Each show will feature all four NY premieres. The festival will be hosted by Teatro LATEA—a gorgeous venue run by the Clemente Center (a Puerto Rican and Latinx cultural space rooted in the Lower East Side).
