About This Show

Minimalist soulstress Eisa Davis, who first caught the world’s ear with her guest appearances on Showtime’s Soul Food, is a renaissance woman for the new millennium. Actor, writer, and musician, Eisa is a classically trained pianist with an unforgettable voice. In a style that Time Out New York calls “the sophisticated side of the blues impetus,” she writes hypnotic, cathartic, always poetic laments over uplifting chord progressions, with hand carved lyrics that take us on a walk through our hearts. Eisa is currently appearing in the Public’s production of the new rock musical Passing Strange and just received a Pulitzer Prize nomination for her newest play.
