About This Show

Michael Patrick MacDonald is the author of the national bestseller All Souls: A Family Story from Southie, which won the American Book Award. He has been a guest columnist for the Boston Globe and recently completed the screenplay of All Souls for director Ron Shelton. Easter Rising: A Memoir of Roots and Rebellion is his second book.

MacDonald, who lives in Brooklyn, grew up in South Boston’s Old Colony housing project. He helped launch many of Boston’s antiviolence initiatives, including guy-buyback programs and the South Boston Vigil Group, and he continues to work nationally with survivor families and young people in the antiviolence movement.

Join us for a special evening with this remarkable storyteller as he examines the relationship between his work as an author and activist, discusses his latest projects, and launches the paperback release of Easter Rising.
